Role models

When I was 11 years old, I started taking mime lessons at school. My teacher was Peter Makal, a student of the famous mime Marcel Marceau. A year later, I was already a permanent member of the Makal City Theater in Stuttgart and was allowed to perform on stage with the adults. It was fantastic. I immersed myself in the colorful and shrill world of theater. I learned artistry, unicycling and juggling. Peter Makal’s creativity knew no bounds. He was and is a great role model in artistic terms. He painted, built masks, chose the music for the plays and his stage performance was incredible.
Role models play a crucial role in our lives because they serve as points of reference and sources of inspiration. They can motivate us to pursue our goals and help us overcome obstacles. By observing and imitating their actions and behavior, we can benefit from their experience and wisdom without having to make the same mistakes.

Having a role model offers numerous benefits.
1. they give us a clear picture of what is possible, broadening our horizons. We see that someone in a similar situation to us is successful, our own ambitions are strengthened and we realize that our goals are achievable.
2. role models show us practical guidance and advice. Their experience and wisdom can help us overcome challenges and make wise decisions.
3. role models serve as a source of motivation and encouragement. Their success encourages us to work hard and persevere, even when the going gets tough.
4. role models can also help build confidence and self-esteem as we can look to their experience and knowledge for guidance.

Role models can help us reach our full potential, achieve our goals and become the best versions of ourselves. Therefore, it is important to be mindful of who we choose as a role model and to be actively inspired by their positive qualities and experiences. Peter Makal definitely left a positive footprint on me.
