Only Quality People

Last week I talked about how important it is to pay attention to your mindset. There will always be people around you who will try to pull you down. There are several reasons for this.

➡️ People pull you down because they are pessimists themselves. These people can only see the bad things. They are so busy looking for where the problem is that they can’t see the beauty in life.

I am a dance sport judicator. My job is to compare couples with each other. I always try to pay attention to the strengths. Which couple is better than the other? However, it is also my job to look for mistakes. What is this couple not so good at? If I’ve judged a lot, at some point I’m in “error-search-mode”. I’m glad when the competition is over and my head can calm down again.

Last weekend I was at a dance competition as a spectator. I realized how nice it can be to be a spectator. I really enjoyed just watching the couples. Not to compare, not to judge, but simply to enjoy the beauty of how the couple moves to the music.

➡️ There are people who want to put you down so that they feel they are above you. They want to feel big. Don’t let that happen. Either stand up to them or avoid them.

Les Brown uses the expression OQP – Only Quality People. Pay attention to your surroundings!

❓Questions:
➡️ Which people are you surrounded by?
➡️ Are they toxic or are they good for you?

Only surround yourself with people who are good for you. Only quality people.

I’m very lucky to have a fantastic family who support me and with whom I can have a lot of fun. But if you have a family or a partner who pulls you down, think about whether it’s really worth maintaining this contact. Or try to minimize these contacts.

If you are doing well, then start to infect others with your optimism and smile and lift up the people around you. This will result in many more positive people around you. 🌻
